Apple have posted a page detailing how the company is supporting half a million US jobs on their site and digging through it we find something very interesting.
A confirmation that Corning is actually the manufacturer of the iPhone’s display in the words – “Corning employees… who create the majority of the glass for iPhone.”
We’re not sure what “the majority” means but we’re guessing that it’s either only the front glass is Corning’s or they are referring to the availability of a second supplier. Most manufacturers have several suppliers for one and the same part as an emergency backup.
We’re not really sure why Apple decided to keep their working relationship with Corning a secret but it’s out now. No word on the iPad screen though.
